Yan Falkinstein, Esq. MBA

Yan Falkinstein, Esq. MBA is the Managing Attorney of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Practice. He oversees all workers’ compensation attorneys in the firm’s offices throughout California, in addition to maintaining his own caseload of files. Yan has practiced workers’ compensation defense exclusively since 2012, zealously representing the interests of employers, insurers, and third-party administrators. Before joining the Law Offices of Heywood G. Friedman, Yan held leadership roles in other highly regarded California defense firms.

Yan is a graduate of the nationally recognized Joint JD/MBA program offered by Pepperdine University’s Caruso School of Law/Graziadio Business School. He earned his BA in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Yan is an expert in all aspects of California workers’ compensation law. He has extensive experience in advising clients, developing legal strategies, appearing before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB), assessing exposure, conducting depositions, cross-examining AMEs and PQMEs, and negotiating settlements. Yan strongly believes in the importance of maintaining consistent, meaningful communication with his clients, and bringing each claim to a prompt and cost-effective resolution.

When he is not providing his clients with The Best Defense, Yan enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends. He loves adventures with his wife and daughter, and enjoys playing guitar and singing with them. He is also an avid sports fan, with soccer holding a special place as his lifelong favorite.
